Laura Kasischke
September 2002

Laura Kasischke's most recent collection of poetry is Dance and Disappear, University of Massachusetts Press, 2002. She has published four previous collections, and three novels, the most recent of which, The Life Before her Eyes, was published this year by Harcourt. She teaches at Washtenaw Community College and in the Warren Wilson MFA Program, and lives in Chelsea, Michigan, with her husband and six year old son.

She writes, "I like poems that keep some secrets, that walk the line between explicit utterance and whispers. Not only do I prefer that sense of mystery in the poems I read, I like it when my own poems do that for me: reveal enough to make me wonder, but also let me twist a little in the wind."
